Create and manage Events
Events are free public pages with one or more dates. You can use an Event as an information page, accept capacity-limited reservations, and include its dates in Nune's shared calendar.
Create an Event
- Open Events and select + Add event.
- Add the title, optional location, excerpt and description. The slug becomes the public address
/event/your-slug. - Under Dates and capacity, set the date, start time and optional end time. Select + Add date for another occurrence.
- For an event lasting several days, use Multi-day event to set that occurrence's optional final date. A reservation covers the complete occurrence.
- Set a capacity for each occurrence. Use
0for unlimited places. - Keep Active selected for every occurrence that visitors should see.
- Choose whether that occurrence allows online cancellation and set the required notice in hours.
- Publish the Event, or save it as a draft while it is unfinished.
All Events are free. Product checkout and paid Booking Page settings do not apply to them.
Show information without taking reservations
Clear Allow visitors to reserve a place when the Event should display its information and dates without a reservation form. It can still appear on the public Events list and shared calendar.
When reservations are enabled, the capacity applies separately to each date. Visitors see the Reservation success message after securing a place.
Choose the public display
The Event editor also provides:
- Show title and Show main image controls;
- a main image and gallery selected from the Media Library;
- default two-column or full-width page layout;
- excerpt position;
- SEO title and description;
- a Colour calendar or Date and time dropdown for choosing an occurrence.
For a colour calendar, choose Calendar or Compact layout, its day, week, month or year period, and the available, selected and unavailable colours.
Add Events to calendars and menus
Keep Show event on shared calendar selected to include its active future dates in [calendar]. To display only Events in another content area, use:
[calendar content="events"]
[calendar content="events" view="compact" limit="6" filters="0"]
Published Events are available under the Events tab in Settings > Menus. Add a custom /events link when you want visitors to open the complete Events list rather than one Event.
Manage Events and reserved places
The Events dashboard shows each Event's next date, number of dates, reservation count and publication status. Use Edit, View or Delete beside an Event.
The Reserved places table lists each attendee and occurrence. Change a reservation to Confirmed or Cancelled, then select Save. Use Export reservations to download the Event reservation list as a CSV file.
An Event with reservations cannot be deleted. Save it as a draft instead so its history remains available while the page is hidden.
If it does not work
- If the Event is missing from the website, publish it and make sure it has an active future date.
- If it is missing from a calendar, also select Show event on shared calendar.
- If visitors cannot reserve, select Allow visitors to reserve a place and check that the chosen date still has capacity.
- If an Event is absent from Menu Builder, publish it first.
- If Delete is refused, the Event has reservations; save it as a draft instead.
